House wiring and points
Electrician estimate
Estimate points, wire, switches, and labour for a home in India. Edit the per-point rate and add GST only if you charge it.
Electrical estimates in India are usually counted in points, with wire and accessories either inside the point rate or listed beside it. Say which method you are using or the client will compare you with a cheaper point rate that hides the wire.

What is an electrician estimate?
An electrician estimate prices house wiring before the coils are bought: points, wire, switches, the distribution board, and labour. In India the usual comparison is a per-point rate. That rate is only fair if everyone means the same thing by a point.
Say whether wire and accessories sit inside the point or beside it. A cheaper point rate that hides the wire is not the same job.
What should an electrician estimate include?
A point count from a walk-through, wire by coil or by metre, boards and switches, and labour. Add the DB, MCBs, and earthing as their own lines when the job includes them. A long run to the meter is not covered by a flat point rate that assumed the board was already on the floor.
The sample splits wire, boards, and labour for a 2BHK. It is not a load calculation and not a licensed design. You still size the DB and the earthing yourself.
Electrician pricing methods
Per point, wire included
One rate covers the switch, the light or socket, labour, and a share of the wire. Say that wire is included, and do not also bill the coils.
Per point, wire extra
The point is labour and accessories. Coils of 1.5 sq mm and 2.5 sq mm are separate lines. Use this when the run from the DB is long.
Item rate
Wire, boards, MCBs, and labour each have a quantity. Clearest for a full rewiring where the client will ask who pays for the extra coil.
DB and earthing apart
Do not hide the distribution board or the earth pit inside a point rate. They are their own scope.
Fixed flat rewiring
One price for a written point count and a named wire spec. Extra points after approval are new lines.

How to create an electrician estimate
1. Start in the browser
Walk the house and count points before you type. Add wire by coil or by metre, not as a round lump sum.
2. Replace the sample rates
The numbers on this page are examples, not a price list. Type the quantity, unit, and rate you actually charge in your city. Add GST only if this job is taxed.
3. Preview the PDF, then send it
You can build the quotation without an account. Sign in with Google when you want the PDF, a WhatsApp file, or the job saved to your account.
Questions
Should the point rate include wire?
Either include it and say so, or list the coils separately. Do not do both, or you will double-charge the run.
How do I estimate a long run to the meter?
Measure it and add a line for that cable. A flat point rate assumed the DB was already on the floor.
Do I add GST on a house wiring job?
Only if you charge GST. The estimate can show one GST line. It will not split CGST and SGST.
