Not a GST e-invoice
Invoice and quotation maker
Prepare the quotation or simple bill you send a client in India, with line items and GST if you charge it. WorkQuote does not file GST or generate an IRN.
Contractors often say invoice for the PDF they send on WhatsApp. WorkQuote makes that client document: lines, total, GST if you charge it, advance, and balance. It does not register an e-invoice and it does not generate an IRN.

What this invoice is
Contractors often say invoice for the PDF they send on WhatsApp. WorkQuote makes that client document: lines, total, GST if you charge it, advance, and balance.
It does not register an e-invoice, generate an IRN, or file a return. Use your GST software for GSTR and e-way bills.
What should the bill include?
Your business name, phone, and GSTIN if you have one. Each charge the client agreed to. If part of the money is already received, show it as advance so the balance is obvious.
Use it for a quotation before work, or a simple bill after a small job. Do not print a GST line when you are not charging GST.
How contractors use this bill
Quotation before work
The client approves lines, tax, and total before you buy material.
Simple bill after the job
The same layout, with the charges you actually completed. It is still a client PDF, not a tax-department invoice.
Advance and balance
Show what is already received and what is left. That is the number people argue about on handover day.
One GST line
If you charge GST, the PDF shows one amount, such as GST 18%, plus your GSTIN. It does not split CGST and SGST.
No e-invoice
There is no IRN and no upload to the invoice portal. Do not tell a client this file is a government e-invoice.
Sample bill
| Modular wardrobe, as agreed | 1 no · sample rate | ₹48,000 |
| GST 18%, if you charge it | On the taxable total | ₹8,640 |
| Advance already received | Shown separately | ₹20,000 |
The PDF can show tax, advance, and balance. Sample figures only.
How to create the client bill
1. Start in the browser
Draft the lines first. Add GST only when this bill is taxable. Sign in to download the PDF you will send.
2. Replace the sample rates
The numbers on this page are examples, not a price list. Type the quantity, unit, and rate you actually charge in your city. Add GST only if this job is taxed.
3. Preview the PDF, then send it
You can build the quotation without an account. Sign in with Google when you want the PDF, a WhatsApp file, or the job saved to your account.
Questions
Will this create a GST e-invoice?
No. There is no IRN, no IRP portal, and no GSTR upload. You get a PDF quotation or bill for the client.
Can I show CGST and SGST separately?
The PDF shows one GST line, such as GST 18%, plus your GSTIN if you entered it. It does not split that amount into CGST and SGST.
Can I send it on WhatsApp?
Yes, after you sign in. The file is built in your browser. Sharing and download are tied to your account so the job stays in your history.
