Quotation maker for contractors

Make a client quotation in rupees with materials, labour, and GST if you charge it. Start free in the browser and download the PDF when you sign in.

A quotation is the document you send before the job starts: what you will do, at what rate, and what the client pays. WorkQuote turns that into a PDF with your business name on it.

What is a quotation?

A quotation is the document you send before the job starts: what you will do, at what rate, and what the client pays. On Indian sites people also call it an estimate. The word matters less than the lines, the tax, and the total.

WorkQuote turns that into a PDF with your business name. You can draft it in the browser without an account, then sign in when you want the file.

What should a quotation include?

Write the client and the site, then one line for each material or labour charge. Quantity, unit, rate, and amount should be visible. If you are registered and this job is taxable, add GST and your GSTIN. If you are not charging GST, leave tax off.

Add a validity date and your payment terms. Many contractors take an advance before material is bought and collect the balance when the work is handed over. The PDF can show advance and balance.

Ways to price a quotation

  • Item-wise

One line per material and per labour charge. When the room grows, you change a quantity instead of renegotiating a lump sum.

  • Labour + material

Material at the rate you charge, labour on its own line. Use this when the client might supply one of them.

  • Per unit

Square feet, points, sheets, or running feet. Name the unit on the line so a remeasure is simple.

  • Fixed scope

One price for a defined job. List what is excluded, or the next extra becomes a dispute.

  • With a GST line

Add one GST amount only when you charge it. WorkQuote does not split CGST and SGST and does not create an e-invoice.

How to create a quotation

  1. 1. Start in the browser

Open a blank estimate. Add a line for each material and each labour charge. You do not need an account to draft it.

  2. 2. Replace the sample rates

The numbers on this page are examples, not a price list. Type the quantity, unit, and rate you actually charge in your city. Add GST only if this job is taxed.

  3. 3. Preview the PDF, then send it

You can build the quotation without an account. Sign in with Google when you want the PDF, a WhatsApp file, or the job saved to your account.

Questions

Is a quotation the same as an estimate?

On most Indian sites the words are used for the same PDF: a price you are offering before work starts. Use the title your client expects. The layout — lines, rates, tax, total — is what matters.

Can I make the quotation on my phone?

Yes. The editor works in the mobile browser. Sign in when you want the PDF saved to your account so it is not stuck on one phone.

Do I have to add GST?

No. Turn tax on only when you charge it. The PDF then shows a GST line. WorkQuote does not file your return and does not create a government e-invoice.
