INR and GST
Quotation format for India
The quotation fields Indian clients expect: your GSTIN, line items in INR, a GST line if you charge it, and a total. Filled in as a PDF.
Clients in India look for a familiar shape: who is quoting, a GSTIN if you have one, lines in rupees, tax if it applies, and a total they can approve on WhatsApp.

What is a quotation format in India?
Clients look for a familiar shape: who is quoting, a GSTIN if you have one, lines in rupees, tax if it applies, and a total they can approve on WhatsApp.
WorkQuote follows that shape. It is a client PDF, not a government form and not a GST return.
What should the India format include?
Your business name and mobile, GSTIN only if you have one, the client and the site, then lines in INR. If you charge GST, the PDF shows one tax line — for example GST 18%. It does not split CGST and SGST, and it does not create an e-invoice IRN.
If you do not charge GST, leave tax off and do not print a GSTIN. A quotation with a fake GST line is worse than a short one. Advance and balance belong under the total.
How tax appears on the format
With a GST line
One amount, such as GST 18%, plus your GSTIN from business details. Filing that tax is still your return, not this PDF.
Without GST
Leave tax off when you are not charging it. Do not invent a GSTIN.
Advance and balance
Show what you have received and what is left. Indian clients expect that on the same page as the total.
Amounts in INR
Rates are whatever you type, in rupees. The PDF is written for that.
No CGST / SGST split
You get a single GST amount. Use your return software if you need the split or an IRN.
Sample GST working
| Taxable lines | Materials and labour | ₹40,000 |
| GST 18%, only if charged | One line on the PDF | ₹7,200 |
| Total the client approves | INR | ₹47,200 |
Sample tax working. Turn GST off when you do not charge it.
How to fill an India quotation
1. Start in the browser
Enter business details once, including GSTIN only if you have one. Each new quotation reuses that header.
2. Replace the sample rates
The numbers on this page are examples, not a price list. Type the quantity, unit, and rate you actually charge in your city. Add GST only if this job is taxed.
3. Preview the PDF, then send it
You can build the quotation without an account. Sign in with Google when you want the PDF, a WhatsApp file, or the job saved to your account.
Questions
Does the format show CGST and SGST?
No. You get a single GST amount. Use your return software if you need the split.
Are the amounts in rupees?
Yes. The PDF is written for INR. Rates are whatever you type.
Can I write the quotation in Hindi?
The app interface can switch language. The document labels follow that choice. The line descriptions are the words you type, in whatever language you use with the client.
